We recently had the pleasure of acquiring a true gem - a 1981 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Series 4 Oscar India Sports Saloon that was originally ordered by the Sultan of Oman. With just 291 of these remarkable machines produced during seven and a half years of production, it's an incredibly rare and valuable addition to our workshop.
At Legacy Overland, we don't just restore amazing classic off-road cars like Land Cruisers, Defenders, and Range Rover Classics - our passion extends to classic sports cars from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. It's not something we advertise to the world, but our craftsmen have been working meticulously on a diverse range of classic sports cars, including a Ferrari 328 GTSI, Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, multiple 1970s Aston Martin V8s, a Porsche 911 G-model, and more.
There is a Defender-wide infatuation with horsepower in the US, it seems. Not sure where this comes from, but the entire builder-landscape - at least from those with US operations - keep insisting on those. No doubt, it’s by necessity as there just are almost no old Defenders with gasoline V8s left to source. So what’s left are smaller Diesel engines which are not a huge draw amongst the US clientele. So the only thing for US based Land Rover builders to do is to drop a different engine in. Hence the LS3 craze. But hey, we do it too and you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do!
That is the question.
The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, with its ruggedly handsome, strong lines is a statement of a classic off-roader in-and-of-itself. So in designing one of our in-house build projects that are our sandbox for experimenting with new ideas, we wanted to turn the visual dial up to 11. Stripe decals….Stripe decals!
