Sometimes the longest journeys are the best; this FJ40 was in what for most would be a long-gone, too-much state - but not for us at Legacy Overland. Determined to rescue the iconic FJ40 we rolled up our sleeves, cranked up the welder and went to fabricate. Completely rebuilding the frame, we proceeded to make new mounts and all brackets and bits needed for this FJ40 to be resurrected. The body is made from all new metal, electrical wiring is all brand new and the drive train is all new Chevy Small Block 350 V8 made to a 5-speed NV4500 and rebuilt transfer case. While at it, we took the opportunity to enhance nearly every aspect of the vehicle, including upgrading to a four-wheel disc brake system, installing an Old Man Emu suspension, adding power steering and air conditioning, revamping the fuel system, and much more

Inside made for a new generation

On the inside, this FJ40 has received upgraded high-back comfort seats and wood rimmed steering wheel. Together with new rear seats and doors, the FJ40 has been upholstered in a soft, full grain beige leather that is both diamond stitched as well as micro perforated for beautiful - and comfortable - driving.

The roof is upholstered in beige alcantayra and the floor dressed in a matching beige German square weave wool carpet with edge trim. Sound (besides the sonorous V8) is provided through a RetroSound bluetooth enabled sound system coupled to four speakers.

This is the perfect Cruiser - tastefully upgraded, carefully modernized, and fully classic and vintage - the Legacy Overland way.
