British Roots. American Heart.
Corvette LS3 V8. Argento Silver. Crafted to be Driven.
At the heart of Project Arrix sits a naturally aspirated Corvette LS3 V8 producing 430 horsepower, transforming the Range Rover P38 into a vehicle that retains its unmistakable British character while delivering the reliability, serviceability, and performance of one of General Motors’ most proven powerplants. But Project Arrix was never intended to be simply another LS swap. From the outset, the objective was to engineer a complete drivetrain package that integrates seamlessly with the P38 platform, preserving the refinement, capability, and everyday usability that made the Range Rover an icon.
Refined Through Engineering
Some vehicles earn their place in automotive history through capability. Others through luxury. The Range Rover P38 achieved both, combining unmistakable British refinement with genuine off-road capability in a way few vehicles of its era could. The vision behind Project Arrix was to create a one-of-a-kind P38 that remained unmistakably Land Rover while benefiting from the reliability, performance, and serviceability of a modern American powerplant. Every decision throughout the build was guided by a single philosophy: preserve everything that makes a Range Rover feel like a Range Rover while thoughtfully improving the ownership experience beneath the surface.
At the heart of the build sits a Corvette LS3 V8, producing 430 horsepower, but integrating the engine into the P38 platform required far more than a simple engine replacement. Custom engine mounting, drivetrain adaptation, cooling system engineering, fuel delivery, exhaust fabrication, electrical integration, ECU calibration, and factory systems communication were all developed specifically for this build. Countless hours of engineering, fabrication, testing, and refinement ensured the LS3 operated as a cohesive powertrain rather than an aftermarket conversion. The result is a drivetrain that feels intentional, reliable, and remarkably factory-like in both operation and drivability.
Reliability and long-term serviceability were equally important throughout the engineering process. Every supporting system surrounding the LS3 was designed with future maintenance in mind, allowing owners to benefit from readily available GM components while eliminating many of the challenges associated with sourcing aging factory drivetrain parts. The result is a Range Rover that can be confidently driven, serviced, and enjoyed without sacrificing the character enthusiasts appreciate.
One of the defining objectives of Project Arrix was preserving the character of the original vehicle. The factory Land Rover systems, controls, and functionality were retained wherever possible, allowing the vehicle to maintain the familiar experience enthusiasts appreciate while introducing modern reliability beneath the hood. Rather than replacing the personality of the P38, the Corvette LS3 enhances it, delivering effortless power while remaining composed and refined in everyday driving.
The interior reflects the same philosophy of respectful modernization. Years of worn leather, faded carpeting, and aging trim gave way to a completely refreshed cabin designed to feel OEM+. Every seating surface was retrimmed in Nappa Grain Ferrari Beige Tradizione leather, accented by matching piping that elevates the cabin while remaining true to the vehicle’s classic design language. New black carpeting replaced the original worn flooring, while a new headliner restored the clean, tailored appearance expected of a luxury Range Rover.
Modern technology was integrated discreetly throughout the cabin without compromising its period-correct appearance. A Blaupunkt Frankfurt infotainment system provides seamless Bluetooth connectivity, hands-free functionality, and contemporary audio performance while preserving the timeless look of the original dashboard. Paired with upgraded Kicker speakers, a BOSS amplified subwoofer, and dedicated audio amplification, the sound system delivers modern audio quality without distracting from the vehicle’s heritage.
The exterior was restored with equal attention to detail. Finished in Argento Silver, a sophisticated Ferrari color selected for its understated elegance, the bodywork complements the timeless lines of the P38 while introducing a subtle level of exclusivity. Sitting beneath the body are Mondial wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO3 tires, combining classic proportions with modern capability and reinforcing the vehicle’s grand touring character both on and off the road.
While the Argento Silver finish, handcrafted interior, and restored cabin define the vehicle visually, the engineering beneath the hood defines Project Arrix. Every fabrication, every calibration, and every integration decision was made with one goal: create an LS-powered P38 that feels as though it could have left the factory this way.
Rather than asking owners to choose between authenticity and dependability, Project Arrix proves they can coexist. It stands as Legacy Overland’s interpretation of what the P38 might have become had modern engineering, unrestricted craftsmanship, and decades of hindsight been available when it first left the factory.
