Purposeful Expedition Renewal
Project Yellowhammer was built as a confidence-inspiring all-terrain companion—an expedition-ready Discovery II designed to travel far, carry comfortably, and remain dependable long after pavement disappears. Rather than reimagining the Discovery’s character, this build focuses on restoration through renewal: addressing known weaknesses, upgrading critical systems, and outfitting the vehicle for modern adventure while preserving its original identity.
Engineered for Reliability
The exterior underwent a full repaint in OEM factory color, following comprehensive preparation and correction. Aging trim, weathered seals, and worn finishes were addressed so the body presents as cohesive, durable, and ready for exposure. Subtle exterior upgrades—lighting, rack systems, and refreshed glass—support real-world travel while respecting the Discovery II’s original proportions and design language.
Inside, Yellowhammer was fully stripped and rebuilt. The interior was re-crafted with new upholstery, repaired plastics, and integrated modern conveniences, all executed with restraint. Comfort, noise reduction, and material durability were prioritized to support long days behind the wheel without sacrificing the vehicle’s OEM feel.
Mechanically, Yellowhammer was treated as a reliability-first project. Known Discovery II issues were systematically resolved, critical systems resealed and refreshed, and suspension and braking components renewed to restore proper ride, control, and safety. Extensive testing and verification followed, ensuring the truck was ready not just to look the part, but to perform confidently across terrain and distance.
