Form Meets Function
Project C-Wagon is a ground-up restoration of a classic Mercedes-Benz GE230, reimagined as a refined yet purposeful expedition vehicle. This build was not about cosmetic enhancement alone—it was a comprehensive reengineering of the vehicle’s core systems, combining mechanical correctness, modern comfort, and timeless design.
Engineered To Last
The exterior was taken down completely and fully repainted in Volcanic Bronze Stone, a deep, metallic earth tone that suits the G-Wagen’s architectural form. Extensive preparation preceded paint, ensuring straight panels, crisp edges, and a finish that reads both factory-correct and quietly bespoke. The result is a G-Class that feels substantial and intentional, equally at home in urban settings or remote landscapes.
Inside, the cabin was stripped and rebuilt with a custom two-tone leather interior, elevating the GE230 well beyond its utilitarian origins. Seats, panels, and touchpoints were reupholstered to balance durability with warmth, while preserving the upright, functional character that defines the early G-Wagen. Sound treatment, modernized controls, and integrated systems transform the interior into a space built for long-distance travel.
Mechanically, Project C-Wagon was treated as a true restoration. The engine was fully rebuilt, including new pistons, bearings, and internal components, restoring reliability, smoothness, and longevity. Electrical systems were extensively reworked to support modern amenities, and a fully retrofitted air-conditioning system was engineered into the vehicle—bringing genuine climate comfort to a platform never originally designed for it.
Project C-Wagon is the embodiment of thoughtful restraint: a classic G-Wagen rebuilt correctly, modernized where it matters, and finished with materials and systems meant to endure decades of use.
