Phoenix reborn

Blending in is overrated. Sometimes, you have to be bold. You have to take something rugged, something legendary, and push it beyond its limits. Sometimes, you have to give your classic Defender the full frame-off restoration it deserves. One that masterfully boosts its raw performance and untamed off-roading spirit, while combining them with modern innovation and luxury.

Determined to elevate this vintage Landy’s torque, we decided to call upon a higher power: the 420 horsepower of a GM LS3 6.2-liter V8, to be precise. This engine swap, an impressive upgrade over the Land Rover Defender 90 NAS’ 3.9-liter V-8 stock engine, was paired with a 5-speed AX-15 transmission – known for its smooth gear shifting and superior off-road performance, especially when things get rocky. Ready, set, go: a mightier Defender 90 that stays true to its legacy of adventure.

A true trendsetter

They say you should dress to impress. Boasting a multi-stage Calypso Coral paint job, this one isn’t just fashionable: it’s a true pioneer. The Puma-style hood adds a bold, edgy look to the front, whereas the custom black canvas soft top provides protection from the elements. Powder-coated in silver, the Land Rover OEM wheels add a touch of vintage elegance.

The art exhibition continues inside: the entire Defender interior was stripped down to its core, offering a fresh canvas for custom upgrades. The Lucari seats, expertly upholstered in contrasting stitching, add both comfort and style, while the custom-wrapped leather dashboard brings a luxurious touch to the utilitarian design.

Every detail, from the Momo leather-wrapped steering wheel to the black leather sun visors, speaks of quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design. And the original Smiths analog gauges? They’re for the discerning driver that likes to go back to basics with flair. But there are special treats for the tech crowd too: from the custom USB charger and in-dash Double Din audio system with Bluetooth and CarPlay, to the rear-view backup camera that lets you safely look back on all the beautiful details you may have missed.

The restoration of this 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS is a remarkable journey of customization, where precision craftsmanship meets unrivaled attention to detail. After all, transforming a classic off-roader from amazing to extraordinary is always our pleasure. Be careful what you wish for, though: as this majestic reborn Phoenix shows, you might just get it.
