Reliability, Refined
Project Marble began with a 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 in need of more than a routine service. The goal was to address age-related maintenance, correct developing issues, and bring the truck back to a properly sorted mechanical condition ready to continue doing what the Land Cruiser has always done best
Sorted to the Core
The mechanical work focused on the areas that matter most to long-term reliability. The ignition system was comprehensively renewed with new spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor, and ignition coil, while the engine received a valve adjustment, throttle-body cleaning, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket. A complete fluid service followed, covering the engine oil and filter, transmission, differentials, transfer case, and driveline lubricants, with fresh antifreeze completing the essential service work.
The attention then moved to the chassis and final details. Front sway bar links were replaced to address wear and improve handling, followed by extensive inspection, road testing, and correction of the minor issues uncovered along the way. Final detailing and quality-control checks completed the process, leaving Marble properly serviced, thoroughly tested, and ready for continued reliable operation.
