The Spirit of the American Frontier, Reborn.
Some machines don’t just move—they embody freedom itself. The 1979 Jeep CJ5 is one of them. Born from the DNA of post-war Willys and refined through decades of trail-tested grit, this CJ5 arrived at Legacy Overland as a beloved ranch companion showing the marks of a life well lived. Our mission: to preserve that soul while restoring the toughness, reliability, and stance that made it a legend of the open range.
Classic Form, Modern Function
Over several weeks, the Dutton Ranch CJ5 underwent a methodical revival—one that honored its rugged honesty while sharpening every mechanical edge. From rebuilding the steering and driveline to replacing bearings, seals, U-joints, and bushings throughout, every fix was done with purpose. The suspension and steering geometry were re-aligned to perfection; brakes rebuilt and lines replaced; electricals tidied; and the whole undercarriage brought back to confident form. The Jeep was then road-tested, adjusted, and detailed—ready again to rumble down ranch trails and mountain passes with the same character that once defined American adventure.
