Project Rockies was conceived as an outdoor companion for the American West—built for Texas ranch land, rocky mountain passes, and the kind of long, unplanned adventures where the road surface is optional. This FJ40 embraces rugged outdoor living, blending durability, mechanical honesty, and warmth into a Land Cruiser meant to be used, not preserved.

Modernized Mechanical Core

Finished in a desert beige high-ruggedness coating, Rockies reflects the colors of limestone, dust, and sun-bleached terrain. The finish was chosen for durability and resistance to heat and abrasion, grounding the truck visually in its natural environment. It’s a Land Cruiser that looks correct parked on dirt, stone, or open prairie.

Inside, the mood shifts from elemental to restorative. A chocolate distressed leather interior introduces warmth and tactility, creating a space designed for long drives, camp breaks, and days spent outdoors. The leather was selected to age naturally—developing patina rather than hiding wear—making the interior feel more personal with every mile.

At its core, Project Rockies is about mechanical confidence and engagement. The V8 powertrain, manual gearbox, power steering, and modern climate control transform the FJ40 into a vehicle that can comfortably cover distance while retaining the raw, analog character that defines the model.
