Steering Confidence Rebuilt
Project Cliff is a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 brought back to mechanical confidence through a comprehensive suspension and steering overhaul. The goal was straightforward: eliminate the loose, wandering feel common to aging leaf-spring trucks and return this FJ40 to tight, predictable road manners while maintaining its classic character.
Chassis To Road Corrected
The build centered around a full suspension teardown and rebuild at all four corners. Critical mounting points were repaired and reinforced, geometry was corrected, and a properly balanced lift solution was installed to achieve the right stance without compromising drivability. At the same time, a hydraulic power steering conversion transformed low-speed maneuverability and overall driver comfort.
Supporting upgrades—including new wheels and tire hardware, lighting components, and detailed reassembly—ensure Cliff feels cohesive and properly sorted underneath. The result is an FJ40 that drives straight, steers confidently, and feels structurally sound from chassis to road.
