Rough and tumble

Sometimes you just need a great truck that’s ready to rumble. This 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is that truck.

Powered by a Chevy 350 V8 engine breeding through a 600 CFM Holly carb mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, it’s got the brawns to bug out and power through. This FJ40 doesn’t want to stay put and is outfitted to be used. It comes with a custom built roll cage inside to protect you in those “hold on!” moments, when the stopping power is provided by upgraded disc brakes front and rear struggle to beat friction or too great inclines. A Warn M8000 winch and farm jack mounted on the front bumper gets the truck out of those sticky situations.

Combo of new and patina

The truck exterior has been repainted in a metallic dark gray with the frame in black. Some areas were left with the original patina keeping things real. Details from it’s past life are present through out, such as the eight-ball shifter knob and auxiliary extra gauges on the dash.

But creature comforts are not forgotten and the truck has been equipped with an under-dash air conditioning system as well as a premium sound system.
